Se VxRail richiede di creare un datastore su DD, significa essenzialmente creare una condivisione NFS su DD.
Una volta creata la condivisione NFS su DD, è possibile montarla su ESX, che VxRail può utilizzare come datastore per spostare i file del disco delle VM/VM da un datastore a questa condivisione/datastore.

- VMware supporta sia VMFS che NFS per il datastore.
- Entrambi i datastore supportano vMotion, che essenzialmente è una funzionalità per spostare le VM da un host a un altro.
- Non vi è molta differenza tra VMFS e NFS, a parte il fatto che NFS è a livello di file e VMFS è un file system a livello di block.
