Instructions
Symptoms
- PSU alert reported in Data Domain System Manager (UI) or CLI
- System health status shows "Degraded"
- Autosupport logs indicate PSU issues
- PSU status appears as "Unpowered," "Absent," "Failed," "Faulty," or "Unavailable"
Cause
PSU alerts may be triggered by one or more of the following conditions:
| Status | Description |
| OK | The power supply has AC power and is functioning properly. |
| Degraded | One of the power supplies has no output. Possible reasons: * Loose AC power cable * Power supply failure Autosupport reports a status of Degraded if a PSU is unpowered or absent. The system is in a degraded state because the power supply redundancy is lost. |
| Unpowered | The power supply lost AC power. Possible reasons: * PSU is plugged into a bad power circuit. * There is a loose or unplugged power cable. * In some circumstances, PSU has failed. |
| Absent | * The PSU is not physically present or available in the slot. * The possible reason is that the PSU is not recognized in the slot. *The power supply can be either good or faulty and report an Absent status. |
| Failed | The power supply is not OK. |
| Faulty | The power supply is not OK. |
| Unavailable | This could be an issue with the reporting status of PSU. Reboot DD, if the issue still persists contact support. |
