Instructions

Pre‑move Verification

  • Confirm sufficient space, power, network connectivity, and Fibre Channel (FC) connections at the new site.
  • Run a final AutoSupport collection for reference.
  • Ensure all backup applications stop writing to the Data Domain.
  • Complete any in‑progress replications and verify they are synchronized.
  • Decide if the file system must be encrypted and locked for security.
  • Optionally configure a management IP address, netmask, and gateway before shutdown.

Directory Structure and Mtree Usage

  • List all mtree definitions and verify which are active.
# mtree list

Active Directory Configuration

  • Check that the Active Directory account and realm are reachable from the new location.
# cifs show config

Client Connection Checks

CIFS (Common Internet File System) Clients

  • Identify CIFS shares and active connections.

FTP and Telnet Access

  • Verify whether FTP or Telnet protocols are enabled.
# adminaccess show

Boost Clients.

  • List existing Dell EMC Boost client connections.
# ddboost show connections

Firewall Port Verification

  • Ensure required ports for CIFS, NFS, replication, Boost, and related services are open at the new site.

Tape Library Connectivity

  • Check Virtual Tape Library (VTL) or Data Library Manager (DLM) groups for client accessibility after the move.
