RecoverPoint for Virtual Machines: How to set up SMTP and email alerts

Instructions

SSH to RecoverPoint Appliance, log in as admin and run system cli in the menu and follow the steps below:

To configure it, you must first configure SMTP with the following commands:
set_smtp_server - To set server IP and address.
config_email - To set the "Sent from" address.
Enable_email - To enable email service.

Then, set up an event filter to determine which events should be sent with the create_event_filter command.
Parameters:
Filter Name
Topic - Which objects should be reported.
Level - Which level events should be sent - info/warning/error.
Scope - Sets the depth of details in the events - normal/detailed/advanced
Exclude - Events to be excluded.
Groups - Which groups should send events (default is all).

Then select email address to be used with the Add_email_user filter.
Parameters:
Email user - Email address to be used.
Immediate/daily events
Event Filter - The name used in the creation of the filter.
