Summary: The Cluster Capacity check in the Isilon On-Cluster Analysis health-check script is reporting the free space limit reached.
Symptoms
Cluster is 95% used, total amount of available space on the cluster must be at least 10%.Node 1 is 95% used, total free space for each node must be at least 8%.
Cause
Resolution
Precheck:
Cluster is 95% used, total amount of available space on the cluster must be at least 10%.Node 1 is 95% used, total free space for each node must be at least 8%.
- Verify the issue using commands in the Notes section.
- Indicate in the precheck summary that the upgrade cannot proceed until resolved.
- Indicate in the precheck case notes that the following must be sent to the customer:
"The total amount of available space on the entire cluster must be at least 10 percent, and the total free space for each node must be at least 8 percent. Do not proceed with the upgrade if the minimum available-space requirement for the cluster is not met. For more information, see the Best Practices Guide for Maintaining Enough Free Space on Isilon Clusters and Pools."
Preupgrade:
Cluster is 95% used, total amount of available space on the cluster must be at least 10%.Node 1 is 95% used, total free space for each node must be at least 8%.
Step to follow:
- Verify the issue using commands in the Notes section.
- Provide the customer with the following:
"The total amount of available space on the entire cluster must be at least 10 percent, and the total free space for each node must be at least 8 percent. Do not proceed with the upgrade if the minimum available-space requirement for the cluster is not met. For more information, see the Best Practices Guide for Maintaining Enough Free Space on Isilon Clusters and Pools."
- Postpone the activity and send an email to the Primary Dell Contact or Scheduling Specialist and indicate that the activity is being postponed due to capacity issues.
Postupgrade:
Cluster is 95% used, total amount of available space on the cluster must be at least 10%.Node 1 is 95% used, total free space for each node must be at least 8%.
Step to follow:
- Verify the issue using commands in the Notes section.
- Reference the customer to the following document: Best Practices Guide for Maintaining Enough Free Space on Isilon Clusters and Pools.
