SQL-back-up is mislukt, de client kan niet browsen en de back-up is voltooid met een foutcode: 10007

Wanneer de klant SQL Server Configuration Manager opent in SQL Server, ziet de foutmelding er als volgt uit: "Kan geen verbinding maken met WMI-provider. Je hebt geen toestemming of de server is onbereikbaar.

Cause

Het is een Microsoft WMI-probleem volgens het Microsoft KB-artikel:

Dit probleem treedt op omdat de WMI-provider wordt verwijderd wanneer de klant een instantie van SQL Server verwijdert. De 32-bits instantie en de 64-bits instantie van SQL Server delen hetzelfde WMI-configuratiebestand. Dit bestand bevindt zich in de map "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\xxx\Shared".

Dit kan soms gebeuren tijdens SQL-updates.

Resolution

Als het opnieuw opstarten van de WMI-service op de betreffende SQL-client het probleem niet oplost, volgt u volgens Microsoft KB:

U kunt dit probleem omzeilen door een opdrachtprompt te openen, de volgende opdracht te typen en op ENTER te drukken:
Bijvoorbeeld: Voor Windows SQL 2008/R2-server is de opdrachtregel: 
mofcomp "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Shared\sqlmgmproviderxpsp2up.mof"
Latere versies SQL 2022
mofcomp "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\160\Shared\sqlmgmprovider.mof"

Controleer daarna of de klant SQL Server Configuration Manager zonder fouten in SQL Server kan openen en dat de SQL-client kan bladeren in Avamar Admin GUI of AUI --> Backup en dat alle instanties/DB's worden vermeld.
