Een snapshot maken met DD OS 5.0 en hoger
  1. Typ in de Data Domain systeemprompt: 
    snapshot create <snapshot> mtree <mtree-path> [retention {<date> | <period>}]
    Voorbeeld: 
    # snapshot create test22 mtree /backup retention  1mos
Snapshot "test22" created and will be retained until May 31 2010 08:48.
    • Als een snapshot op 1 mei 2010 om 8:48 uur is gemaakt met een bewaarperiode van één maand, wordt deze 30 dagen bewaard.
    Opmerking: Het maximale aantal snapshots dat op een systeem mag worden opgeslagen is 750. Als het maximum aantal is bereikt, genereert het systeem een waarschuwing. U kunt dit oplossen door snapshots te laten verlopen en vervolgens de opdracht uit te voeren Filesys schoonte installeren.
