Symptoms
Unable to clone a virtual machine (VM) with PowerStore vVol snapshots to another vVol on a different storage array, while changing the VM settings at the same time.

Cause
This is caused by an issue in VMware vSphere. If the user requested changes in the VM configuration after cloning the VM and before updating the configuration, vSphere tries to access VM snapshot files using the wrong (source) datastore path.
Affected environments:
Cloning between storage arrays without snapshots and customizing the VM - works as expected.
Cloning between storage arrays with snapshots and without customizing the VM - works as expected.
Cloning between storage arrays with snapshots and with customizing the VM - does not work as expected.

Cloning between storage arrays without snapshots and customizing the VM - works as expected.

Resolution
Clone the VM without changing the settings, and change the VM settings on the destination VM after the clone operation is complete.
