What is the availability of Linux on Dell computer's?
A lot of people believe that Linux on Dell computer's starts and stops with the N-Series computers.
This is not correct:
N-Series Computer's:
These are Workstation, Desktop and Notebook computers that Dell has made available for sale with no Operating System installed. (They ship with a FreeDOS install disc.)
Workstations:
Dell currently offers select Workstation computers with Red Hat Enterprise WS v7.5 and Ubuntu 20.04 as an alternative to Windows.
Desktops and Notebooks:
Dell currently offers Ubuntu 20.04 on select products, as an alternative to Windows or Chrome.
Cause
Does Dell Support Linux on its computer's?
If Dell sells a computer with a Linux Operating System installed, you can purchase a support warranty with your computer. You can expect Dell to cover the support of your computer to the level of your warranty.
Note: Dell has no interest in stopping you from installing Linux on any of its computers. However, if you purchase a computer and replace its operating system, then your warranty may require you to reinstall Windows if anything goes wrong. Returning it to purchased state before any software troubleshooting can be done on that particular computer.
