Dell Unity: A LUN or File System was accidentally deleted

Symptoms
Unintentional deletion of a production FS or LUN causes data loss.
Cause
Accidental deletion by a Unity Administrator can cause data loss and disruption.
Resolution
- Once the slices are returned to the pool, there is no way to recover the data back to the pool. There is no way to stop the deletion.
- There is no Dell Unity support or Dell Unity Engineering method or script to restore an FS or LUN.
- To minimize data loss and maximize recovery efforts, it is highly recommended that no additional changes be made to the array.
- Instead, a third-party data-recovery company should be engaged as soon as possible to attempt to recover the deleted data.
- The data recovery specialists assess the situation and provide guidance on the best course of action to take, including any additional steps that may be necessary to optimize the recovery process.
