How to Deploy OpenManage Enterprise on VMware

Deploying OpenManage Enterprise on VMware: 

VMware Requirements: 

  • ESXi 5.5 or later

  • Recommended using OVF and not VMDK since it assigns proper resources. 

  • 16 GB Memory 

  • Four CPU cores 

  • 50 GB hard drive space 

  • Thick Provisioning recommended per documentation 

Deployment Steps VMware: 

  • Download Appliance from Dell. 

  • Extract it 

  • In vSphere in the left pane, right-click and select Deploy OVF Template 

  • Point it to extracted OVF. 

  • Finish the wizard and ensure to attach a network. 

  • Once deployed use the Console to see the TUI 

  • Assign an admin password. 

  • Configure the network details. 

Note: In OM Enterprise, make the appliance name an FQDN if expected to Discover using hostname. 

  • Restart services 

  • Login
