Secure Connect Gateway: Legacy Product Compatibility with for both new connections or upgrading from Secure Remote Services

Symptoms

HTTPS Connect Home fails to transfer to Secure Connect Gateway.

Cause

Secure Connect Gateway 5.0 disabled TLS 1.0/1.1 by default through the system for both new installations and upgrades from Secure Remote Services.

Resolution

ATMOS
HTTPS communication is not compatible for this product and Secure Connect Gateway. FTP and SMTP are still supported. If you are connected through HTTPS, you must reconfigure ConnectEMC using FTP or SMTP. 

DCA: 
HTTPS communication is not compatible for this product and Secure Connect Gateway. FTP and SMTP are still supported. If you are connected through HTTPS, you must reconfigure ConnectEMC using FTP or SMTP. 

VNX: 

  • HTTPS communication is not compatible for this product with code running below Block OE version 05.33.009.5.231 and file OE versions 8.1.9.231. FTP and SMTP are still supported. 

  • To use HTTPS connections, upgrade your VNX system to the code above or reconfigure ConnectEMC to use FTP or SMTP.  

VNXe: 

  • HTTPS communication is not compatible for this product with code that is running below 3.1.10. 

  • To use HTTPS connections, upgrade your VNX system to the code above or reconfigure ConnectEMC to use FTP or SMTP.

VMAX3, VMAX AFA, and PowerMax: 
If a user upgrades to Secure Connect Gateway 5.X, Managed File Transfer registration may not complete and ConnectEMC may no longer function. Dell article 190937: VMAX3, VMAX AFA, and PowerMax: If a user upgrades to Secure Connect Gateway 5.X, Managed File Transfer registration may not complete and ConnectEMC may no longer function.

The issue is resolved with enhancements 547410 and 585848. These are available in the following Cumulative Enginuity Packs:

  • 9417 and later for PowerMaxOS 5978.711.711
  • 9416 and later for PowerMaxOS 5978.479.479
  • 9420 and later for HYPERMAX OS 5977.1151.1151
  • 9419 and later for HYPERMAX OS 5977.1131.1131


ViPR: 
HTTPS communication is not compatible for this product and Secure Connect Gateway. FTP and SMTP are still supported. If you are connected through HTTPS, you must reconfigure ConnectEMC using FTP or SMTP.
