Symptoms

MetroSync Manager GUI will stop and the following message will be generated:

Unity MetroSync Manager GUI has stopped working.
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Cause

It has been confirmed that there is a bug in the MSM GUI.

The issue happens when rotating logs. 
It is related to log being written, log compression, log file rename, and so on. 
The process cannot access the log file when it is being used by others. 

Resolution

Re-open the GUI, it should be working normally.

Fix is included in MSM version 1.1.7 and above.

This crash is related to MSM GUI, not Service_MSM. They are two different processes. 
When MSM GUI crashes, the service is not impacted.

Additional Information

As of December 2021, MSM version 1.1.8 has been placed on the download site which include fix.
