OpenManage Integration for VMware vCenter (OMIVV) does not support vSphere 8.0 and above

Symptoms

OpenManage Integration for VMware vCenter (OMIVV) does not support vSphere 8.0 and above.

Cause

Engineering has confirmed that there will be no further releases for OMIVV after version 5.4.1 released in June 2023.

Resolution

Environments upgraded to vSphere 8.0 (and above) and want to continue using OpenManage along-with vCenter, must transition from OpenManage Integration for VMware vCenter (OMIVV) to OpenManage Enterprise Integration for VMware vCenter (OMEVV).

OMEVV supports the following vSphere versions: 6.7 U3, 7.0, 7.0 U1, 7.0 U2, 7.0U3, 8.0

OMEVV uses a different licensing mechanism compared to OMIVV, and it requires OpenManage Enterprise Advanced+ licenses on the iDRAC for each managed host.
