Symptoms

NetWorker 19.9 windows client Block Based Backup (BBB) completed successfully, however BBB restore failed with error:
nsriscsi: unable to get ISCSI Header An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.

Cause

Windows ISCSI timeout caused NetWorker BBB restore failure.

Resolution

In the Windows registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E97B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\Microsoft iSCSI Initiator\Parameters]

Increase the following parameter from default value to max value:
  
 FirstBurstLength: The default value is 65536 (64 KB); Increase to 262144 (256 KB)

 MaxBurstLength: The default value is 262144 (256 KB); Increase to 327680 (320 KB)

 MaxRequestHoldTime: The default value is 60 s; Increase to 90 s.

 MaxTransferLength: The default value is 262144 (256 KB); Increase to 327680 (320 KB)

After increasing windows ISCSI parameters, the Windows client BBB restore completes successfully.
