Instructions

Requesting a temporary MFT or DEFT account:

1. To obtain a temporary MFT or DEFT account to upload to, contact the Technical Support Engineer (TSE) of your current Service Record (SR). MFT accounts are for customers located in the Americas while DEFT accounts are for customers located in EMEA and APJK. Provide the TSE with a valid email address to ensure that the login information is sent to the correct person.

2. After contacting the TSE, an email from integration-developer-prod@dell.com containing your login information for the temporary MFT or DEFT account will be sent. You must change your password on the first log-in. Password must be changed before attempting any data transferring.

Note: You must change your password after initial login via https://mft.dell.com. New password must be minimum 10 characters in length and contain at least 4 alpha characters, 3 numeric characters and 1 special character.
MFT supports the HTTPS and SFTP protocols. To use SFTP from Windows, we recommend using the WinSCP file transfer client. Be sure to enable SFTP in the session since it may not be the default option. Note: For connections over SFTP to work, port 22 needs to be open in your network's firewall.
If connecting from a *NIX machine or a machine that supports sftp functionality the connection string is:
sftp mfttdwdWNU6Y@mft.dell.com
Enter password when prompted
Account created on: XXXX-XX-XX at 10:00 CST
Automatic account removal after 7 days on XXXX-XX-XX at 10:00 CST

3. Click provided link https://mft.dell.com or https://deft.dell.com in the email to begin the initial login and password changing process. It asks for your username and temporary password; once you click 'Sign in' it requests for you to reset your password.

4. Once your password is reset, you can access the MFT or DEFT website directly to upload and download documentation.
