Symptoms

Alienware laptop may stop responding and show 2 red and 4 blue LED error code. The issue occurs when changing the memory modules or unplugging and replugging the AC/DC adapter.

Affected Platforms:

  • Alienware 16 Area-51 AA16250
  • Alienware 18 Area-51 AA18250

Affected Memory:

  • DDR5 Hynix 8G (HMCG66AHBVA315N or HMCG66AHBVA312N)

Cause

Memory training may have caused the issue.

Resolution

Note: Before starting the update, perform the following:
  • Back up all personal data. For more information, refer to Back Up and Recovery.
  • Connect the AC adapter.
