How to Find the Product Model Number of Your Dell Computer

Find Your Dell Computer Model Number.
Quick and Easy - Only 5 Steps
Look on Your Device.
Check the sticker on the bottom of your laptop or back of your desktop.
Look for "Model" or "Service Tag".
Check on Your Screen (Windows)
🖥 Tap:
Start → Settings → System → About
Find Device Name or Model.
Use Dell’s Tool (SupportAssist)
⚙️ Open SupportAssist (if installed)
Your model appears on the main screen.
You do not have it? 👉 Download SupportAssist
Use BIOS (if needed)
Restart your computer.
When the Dell logo shows, press F2.
Look for System Model.
Still Cannot Find It?
Go to Dell Support
Enter your Service Tag from the sticker.

Option 1: Use the SupportAssist for Home PCs application for Microsoft Windows
SupportAssist for Home PCs is a Dell application that is preinstalled on your Windows computer. It deploys updates and uses proactive resolution features to help identify and prevent issues. When you open the application, your product model is displayed.
To find your product model using SupportAssist for Home PCs.
In Windows 11 and Windows 10
- In the Search Box, type SupportAssist.
- Select SupportAssist in the search results to open the application. If SupportAssist is not listed in the search results, it means that the application is not installed on your computer. For more information about how to download and install SupportAssist, see the SupportAssist for Home PCs page.
- The Service Tag of your computer is displayed in the upper right corner. Clicking the Service Tag shows you the model number among other details about your computer.
Option 2: Check the label on your Dell device
The Service Tag is printed on a label on the Dell Desktop or All-in-Ones, Laptops, Printers, Monitors, Docks, or Projectors.
Browse to the Find your Service Tag or Serial Number library page for information about locating your Service Tag or Serial Number.
From the Find your Service Tag or Serial Number library page, select the type of device you have, and follow the steps.
The options are:
- Locate Your Laptop's Service Tag
- Find the Service Tag of Your Dell Desktop or All-in-One
- Identify Devices Without Service Tag
- Find the Service Tag of Your Dell Tablet
- Find the Service Tag of Your Dell Thin Client
- Find the Service Tag of Your Dell Monitor or Projector
- Locate Your Dock's Service Tag
- Locate the Service Tag, Serial Number, Product ID, or ISNT for your Infrastructure Products
Option 3: Use Settings to obtain the model number in Windows 11
To find your product model using Settings in Windows 11.
- In the Search Box, type settings.
- Select Settings in the search results to open the application.
- On the Home and System screens, the model number of the computer is shown across the top (Figure 1).

Option 4: Use the Windows System Information utility
- In the Search Box, type system information.
- Select System Information in the search results to open the application.
- Look for System Model in the System Summary (Figure 2).

Option 5: Using your Dell computer's BIOS or UEFI
BIOS stands for Basic Input or Output System. The BIOS or UEFI firmware runs after you turn on your computer. It checks that your hardware is working and then allows the operating system to start. You can access the BIOS to find basic hardware information about your Dell computer and its hardware without using the operating system.
To find your product model number in the system BIOS or UEFI.
- Start with your computer turned off.
- Turn on your computer.
- At the Dell logo screen, tap the F2 key several times to access the BIOS or UEFI. If the operating system starts, reboot the computer and try again.
- On the BIOS or UEFI menu, find the Service Tag and model number on the Overview tab (Figure 3).

Option 6: Check the model number or Service Tag on the box that your Dell device came in.
The Service Tag and model number are listed on a label on the outside of the box that your Dell device was shipped in (Figure 4).
