PowerEdge: VRTX Chassis: Unexpectedly Shut Down

Sintomi

  • VRTX chassis is powered off unexpectedly.
  • All blades and IOMs are also off.
  • Power supplies appear to be healthy.
  • Chassis and blades all power up OK afterward, but nothing about the incident appears in the logs.

Causa

The issue was identified with MC Firmware v 3.30.x.

Risoluzione

This issue is addressed in CMC revision 3.40.

 

Per release notes:

Release 3.40 ------------

* unexpected timeout CMC failover/reboot automatically

* Fix for chassis power off

* Logrotation not working for /tmp/d5netd.start

* SNMPv3 traps not compliant with RFC3414, posing security risk

 

A further update, v3.41, was made available and also contains the fix.
