Sintomi

  • The NetWorker Management Console (NMC) "Modify client wizard" generates the following error:
    connecting to host <client name> failed: loaded plugin is not signed.
  • The error is seen on the NMC client with NetWorker Runtime Environment (NRE) 8.0.14
  • The error is not seen on the NMC client with Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 8 update 301.

Causa

The plug-in error is due to the Java version installed on the host accessing the NMC.

Risoluzione

WARNING: NRE 8.0.14 is from 2022 and should no longer be used.

Upgrade NRE to the latest 8.0.x release. NRE can be downloaded from the NetWorker downloads page: Support for NetWorker | Drivers & Downloads 

The NetWorker downloads page only provides the latest NRE version. 19.12.x (and prior) uses NRE 8.0.x. NetWorker 19.13.x (and later) uses NRE 17.0.x.
