Dell EMC Unity: Unity hostname or friendly name is not updated on the syslog server
Resumo: This KB explains how to handle situations where the hostname or friendly name of Unity is not updated on the syslog server.
Sintomas
The customer has renamed the hostname or friendly name of the Unity array, but the syslog server is still displaying the old hostname instead of the new one.
Causa
The issue occurs because when the hostname is changed, a new certificate is generated, and the web service is reloaded. However, other daemons do not restart and continue to reference the old hostname.
Resolução
To resolve this, the Management service must be failed over.
To failover the Management service from CLI:# svc_restart_service failover MGMT
Example output:23:11:30 root@CKM00xxxxxxxxx spb:/cores/service/user# svc_restart_service failover MGMTFound ECOM on spb, will failover to spa
Mais informações
The old hostname of the array is au-unity. Here are the screenshots from the Unity and syslog server:

Changing the friendly name to syd-unity:

In CLI the hostname shows the new hostname syd-unity

The hostname on the syslog server is still showing the old hostname au-unity

After the management service failover, the unity hostname shows the new hostname syd-unity.
