Symptoms

No changes were made to the VDG definition or the devices belonging to it.   In this example, the VDG has a MAX_SNAPSETS of 48 with CYCLE_TIME(30,0,SECURE,1,1)

Following the microcode upgrade, start the VDG.

Cause

A partire dal microcodice 5978.479.479, la terminazione degli snapset scaduti viene ora gestita dal microcodice e non dal software MFE.  Inoltre, il numero di snapset per dispositivo include tutti i VDG a cui potrebbe appartenere un dispositivo.

Il numero di snapshot di 49 riflette i 48 esistenti per VDG MYVDG e 1 di un altro VDG che dispone di solo 1 snapset ma con dispositivi sovrapposti.  Il software non ha guardare oltre il VDG il cui ciclo era attivo per il numero massimo. Il microcodice considera tutti i VDG che portano alla condizione EIP0206E e causa la fine di VDG.

Resolution

Correzione permanente:
  • Per Mainframe Enablers 8.4, è stato sviluppato PTF SF84106 per risolvere il problema. È disponibile per il download dal supporto online Dell.
  • Per Mainframe Enablers 8.5, è stato sviluppato PTF SF85054 per risolvere il problema. È disponibile per il download dal supporto online Dell.
