Removing the rear drive cage
Prerequisites
- Follow the safety guidelines listed in Safety instructions.
- Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system.
- Remove all the drives.
- Disconnect all the cables from the rear drive backplane.
Steps
- Using a Phillips #2 screwdriver, loosen the captive screws that secure the rear drive cage to the system.
- Slide the rear drive cage towards the front of the system to an unlocked position marked on the drive cage.
- Lift the rear drive cage away from the system.
