Procedure

  1. Turn the computer over and open the display as far as possible.
    • CAUTION: Place the computer on a soft and clean surface to avoid scratching the display.
  2. Peel the tape that secures the touch-screen cable to the system board.
  3. Open the latch and disconnect the touch-screen board cable from the system board.
  4. Peel the tape that secures the display cable to the system board.
  5. Open the latch and disconnect the display cable from the system board.
  6. Remove the display cable and touch-screen board cable from the routing guides on the palm-rest assembly.
  7. Remove the antenna cables from the routing guides on the palm-rest assembly.
  8. Remove the four screws (M2.5x5) that secure the display hinges to the I/O board and system board.
  9. Lift the display assembly off the palm-rest assembly.Image: Removing the display assembly
