Removing the right fan
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the base cover.
About this task
The following images indicate the location of the right fan and provide a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Remove the two screws (M2x4) that secure the I/O-board shield to the fan and palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Lift the I/O-board shield off the system board.
- Remove the screw (M2x4) that secures the fan to the system board.
- Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
- Slide the fan out of the heat sink and lift the fan off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
