Removing the hard drive assembly

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the Side cover.
  3. To remove the hard drive assembly:
    1. Disconnect the hard drive data cable and power cable from the connectors on the hard drive [1, 2].
    2. Push the release tab and lift the hard drive assembly from the system [3].

  4. To remove the 2.5 inch hard drive from the assembly bracket:
    1. Pull one side of the hard drive bracket to disengage the pins on the bracket from the slots on the hard drive [1,2].
    2. Lift the hard drive out of the hard drive bracket [3].hard drive
  5. To remove the 3.5 inch hard drive from the assembly bracket:
    1. Pull one side of the hard drive bracket to disengage the pins on the bracket from the slots on the hard drive [1,2].
    2. Lift the hard drive out of the hard drive bracket [3].hard drive
