Removing the Keyboard

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. battery

    2. base cover

    3. keyboard trim

    • NOTE: After removing the keyboard trim, flip the computer to access the keyboard cable.
  3. Disconnect the keyboard cable from its connector on the system board [1] [2]. Figure displaying how to disconnect the keyboard cable from its connector on the system board.
  4. Flip the computer and remove the screws that secure the keyboard to the computer. Figure displaying how to remove the screws that secure the keyboard to the computer.
  5. Perform the following steps:
    1. Pry the keyboard to release it from the computer [1].
    2. Remove the keyboard from the computer [2].
