Steps

  1. Gently slide the display cable through the plastic strip between the palm-rest and keyboard assembly and rear-I/O cover.
NOTE:Slide the display cable under the plastic strip between the palm-rest and keyboard assembly and rear-I/O cover to correctly install the display assembly. Failing to do so, will damage the display cable.
  2. Gently slide and place the display assembly on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
  3. Align the screw holes on the display assembly with the screw holes on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
  4. Replace the six screws (M2.5x5) that secure the display assembly to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly and ensure that the display is fully closed.
NOTE:If the display assembly is not fully closed, you will not be able to install the display-cable holder correctly.
  5. Align and place the display cable holder with the triangle mark facing up and the display cable pointing towards the end of the display cable holder with the triangle.
  6. From the bottom of the display-cable holder, insert the display cable into the opening adjacent to the triangle mark and route the display cable over the bar on the display-cable holder and into the opening on the other side of the display-cable holder.
  7. Slide the display-cable holder back towards the display assembly until the triangle mark on the display cable aligns with the triangle on the display-cable holder.
  8. Rotate the display-cable holder to 180 degrees so that the "SNR" mark is facing up and the dotted line on the display cable is within the space between the crossbar and the screw hole.
NOTE:If the dotted line is not aligned properly, flip the display-cable holder back over and adjust its position so that the triangles are properly aligned.
  9. Place the display cable holder on the slot on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
  10. Replace the four screws (M2.5x5) that secure the display cable holder to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
  11. Turn the computer over.
  12. Connect the display cable to the system board.
  13. Align and place the display-cable bracket on the system board.
