Procedure

  1. Loosen the two captive screws that secure the solid-state drive shield and solid-state drive to the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
    • NOTE: solid-state drive shield is available only on computers shipped with NVMe solid-state drive. In computers shipped with SATA solid-state drive, remove the screw (M2x2.2) that secures the solid-state drive to the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
  2. Lift the solid-state drive shield off the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
  3. Slide and remove the solid-state drive from the solid-state drive slot.Image: Removing the solid-state drive
