Procedure

  1. Using the pull tab, disconnect the display cable from the system board.
  2. Disconnect the power-adapter port cable from the system board.

  3. Turn the computer over and open the display.
  4. Disconnect the speaker cable, I/O-board power cable, and coin-cell battery cable from the system board.
  5. Peel the tape that secures the I/O board cable to the system board.
  6. Open the latches and disconnect the I/O board cable and status-light board cable from the system board.

  7. Lift the system board at an angle, slide and release the ports from the slots on the computer base.

  8. Turn the system board over.
  9. Remove the speakers.
  10. Remove the heat sink.
