Removing the keyboard

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. base cover

    2. battery

    3. keyboard trim

  3. Lift the latch, and disconnect the keyboard cable [1], touchpad cable [2], trackstick cable [3] and back light(optional) [4] from the connector. Disconnecting cables
  4. To remove the keyboard:
    1. Remove the M2x2 screws that secure the keyboard to the computer [1].
    2. Pry the keyboard from the edge of the computer [2].
