Self-Healing Image Recovery User's Guide

Introduction

Self-Healing Image Recovery provides you with a recovery environment that enables you to recover your operating system remotely when your PC is unable to boot to the operating system. It requires minimal or no assistance from technical support. The recovery environment consists of tools to diagnose and troubleshoot issues that may occur before the PC boots to the operating system. When your PC encounters an issue with its operating system, it uses BIOSConnect to start the recovery process. SupportAssist OS Recovery through BIOSConnect scans for available operating system and restores it.

To use Self-Healing Image Recovery, your PC must be compatible and the recovery preferences must be enabled on your PC by your administrator. If Self-Healing Image Recovery is not enabled on your PC, BIOSConnect downloads and launches the default version of SupportAssist OS Recovery that you can use to recover your PC.
