Limitations

  • Multiple DNS limitation—To resolve the destination's URLs or FQDNs, ThinOS selects the DNS server that provides best performance. If you have configured multiple DNS servers, and if the DNS server with best performance cannot resolve certain URLs, ThinOS cannot access such URLs or FQDNs.
  • Unified Communications limitation—The built-in audio on Wyse 5470 Thin Client produces echo when you make a call. This issue is observed on all Unified Communication packages. Dell Technologies recommends you to use the USB headset to make a call.
  • WMS select group policy limitation—While removing a child group, if you move all the devices that are under that child group to Default Device Policy Group, the removed child group continues to exist in the list after you restart the thin client. Workaround is to select a different target group other than Default Device Policy Group while removing a child group.
  • WMS device exception policy limitation—The device exception policy from Wyse Management Suite does not get applied to the ThinOS device in the following scenarios:
    • When you switch between child groups using the ThinOS login window.
    • Administrator changes settings in the default device group, parent, current child group, or device exception policy from Wyse Management Suite.

For more information about Wyse Management Suite policy settings, see the Dell Wyse Management Suite 3.3 Administrator's Guide at www.dell.com/support.
