Installing the hard-disk drive
Prerequisites
If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.
About this task
The following image indicates the location of the hard-disk drive and provides a visual representation of the installation procedure.
NOTE Systems that are shipped with 3-cell battery contain a rubber bumper that must be removed manually before installing the hard-disk drive.
Steps
- Align and place the hard-disk drive module in the slot on the palmrest assembly.
- Tighten the three captive screws to secure the hard-disk drive module to the palmrest assembly.
- Connect the hard-disk drive cable to the connector on the system board.
Next steps
- Install the base cover.
- Exit the service mode
- Install the SIM card tray for 4G LTE enabled systems.
- Install the microSD-card.
- Follow the procedure in after working inside your computer.
