Removing the LED Board

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. base cover

    2. battery

    3. keyboard trim

    4. keyboard

    5. palmrest

  3. Perform the following steps to remove the LED board:
    1. Disconnect the LED-board cable from its connector on the LED board [1] [2].
    2. Remove the screw that secures the LED board to the palmrest [3].
    3. Remove the LED board from the palmrest [4].Figure displaying how to remove the LED board from the palmrest.
