Removing the Palmrest

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. base cover

    2. battery

    3. keyboard trim

    4. keyboard

  3. Remove the screws that secure the palmrest to the computer.Figure displaying how to remove the screws that secure the palmrest to the computer.
  4. Flip the computer and perform the following steps:
    1. Disconnect the following cables from its connectors on the system board [1] [2]:
      • LED board
      • touchpad board
      • USH board
    2. Pry the palmrest on its edges to release it from the computer [3] Figure displaying how to disconnect the cables and release the palmrest from the computer.
