Removing The Heat Sink

Steps

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. battery
    2. base cover
    3. keyboard trim
    4. keyboard
    5. optical drive
    6. primary and secondary hard drive
    7. palm rest
    8. processor fan
  3. Loosen the captive screws that secure the heat sink to the computer. Lift up and remove the heat sink from the computer.
