Removal
Left Side Cover
Identify the side cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the screws that secure the side cover to the chassis.
Slide and lift the side cover from the chassis.
Coin Cell Battery
Identify the coin cell battery highlighted in blue.
Pinch the securing tabs on the coin cell cover to release it from the coin cell battery socket.
Lift the coin cell cover off the battery socket.
Push the coin cell battery release lever on the coin cell battery socket.
Remove the coin cell battery from the coin cell battery socket.
Wireless Card (WLAN)
Identify the wireless card (WLAN) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the wireless card bracket to the system board.
Slide and remove the wireless card bracket from the wireless card.
Disconnect the antenna cables from the wireless card.
Slide and remove the wireless card from the system board.
Graphics Card
Identify the graphics card highlighted in blue.
Lift the pull tab and open the retention bracket.
Push and hold the securing tab on the graphics card slot.
Lift the graphics card off the system board.
Front Cover
Identify the front cover highlighted in blue.
Pry and release the tabs that secure the front cover to the chassis.
Rotate the front cover outward and lift it from the chassis.
Drive Bay Assembly
Identify the drive bay assembly highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the data and power cables from the hard drive.
Lift the drive bay assembly at an angle to release the tabs from the chassis.
Slide and remove the drive bay assembly from the chassis.
Memory Module
Identify the memory module highlighted in blue.
Pull the securing clips from both sides of the memory module until the memory module pops up.
Remove the memory module from the slot.
Solid State Drive (SSD) 2230
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the SSD to the system board.
Slide and lift the solid state drive from the SSD slot on the system board.
Media Card Reader (Optional)
Identify the media card reader highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the media card reader bracket to the chassis.
Lift the media card reader to disconnect it from its connector on the system board.
Unhook the tabs and remove the media card reader from the chassis.
Fan / Fan Duct
Serial Port Module (Optional)
Identify the serial port module highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the serial port module cable from the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the serial port module to the chassis.
Slide and lift the serial port module from the system.
Processor Fan and Heat Sink Assembly
Identify the processor fan and heat sink assembly highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the processor fan and heat sink assembly to the system board. Loosen in reverse order.
Lift the processor fan and heat sink assembly from the system board.
Use the alcohol pad to clean the heat sink as shown in the video.
Processor
Identify the processor highlighted in blue.
Push the release lever down and away from the processor to free it, then fully extend the lever.
Lift the processor cover completely.
Gently lift the processor from the processor socket.
System Board
Identify the system board highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the front I/O bracket to the chassis.
Rotate and remove the front I/O bracket from the chassis.
Disconnect the power button cable from the system board.
Unroute the antenna cables from the routing guide on the chassis.
Press the securing clip and disconnect the processor and system board power cables from the system board.
Unroute the PSU cables from the routing guide on the chassis.
Disconnect the SATA power and data cables from the system board.
Remove the screw mount that secures the system board to the chassis.
Remove the screws that secure the system board to the chassis.
Lift the system board at an angle and remove it from the chassis.
Install
System Board
Identify the system board location highlighted in blue.
Slide the front I/O ports into the slots on the chassis and align the screw holes on the system board with those on the chassis.
Install the screws that secure the system board to the chassis.
Install the screw mount that secures the system board to the chassis.
Connect the SATA power and data cables to the system board.
Route the PSU cables through the routing guide on the chassis.
Connect the processor and system board power cables to their respective connectors on the system board.
Route the antenna cables through the routing guide on the chassis.
Connect the power button cable to the system board.
Align with the screw holes and install the front I/O bracket on the chassis.
Install the screw that secures the front I/O bracket to the chassis.
Processor
Identify the processor location highlighted in blue.
Ensure that the release lever and the processor cover are fully extended to the open position.
Align the notches on the processor with the tabs on the socket and place the processor on the socket.
Once the processor is fully seated, close the cover and push the lever down, securing it under the tab.
Processor Fan and Heat Sink Assembly
Identify the processor fan and heat sink assembly location highlighted in blue.
Apply paste or a pad included with the heatsink. Apply it in a spiral pattern.
Align the processor fan and heat sink assembly with the screw holes, then install it on the system board.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the processor fan and heat sink assembly to the system board. Tighten in order. Do not overtighten.
Connect the fan cable to the system board.
Serial Port Module (Optional)
Identify the serial port module location highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws from the serial port module.
Align and insert the serial port module into the cutout on the chassis.
Install the screws that secure the serial port module to the chassis.
Connect the serial port module cable to the system board.
Fan / Fan Duct
Media Card Reader (Optional)
Identify the media card reader location highlighted in blue.
Place the media card reader tabs through the slots on the chassis and slide them towards the opening.
Push down the media card reader to connect it to the connector on the system board.
Install the screw that secures the media card reader bracket to the chassis.
Solid State Drive (SSD) 2230
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) location highlighted in blue.
Slide and install the SSD into the slot on the system board.
Install the screw that secures the SSD to the system board.
Memory Module
Identify the memory module location highlighted in blue.
Insert the memory module into the slot and press it down until it clicks into place.
Drive Bay Assembly
Identify the drive bay assembly location highlighted in blue.
Slide and secure one side of the drive bay assembly to the chassis.
Press down the other end of the drive bay assembly, securing the tabs into the slots on the chassis.
Connect the data and power cables to the hard drive.
Front Cover
Identify the front cover location highlighted in blue.
Align and insert the front cover tabs into the slots on the right side of the chassis.
Rotate the front cover toward the chassis and press it into place.
Graphics Card
Identify the single graphics card location highlighted in blue.
Using the alignment post, install and press the graphics card down firmly until it snaps into place.
Close the retention bracket towards the chassis until it snaps into place.
Wireless Card (WLAN)
Identify the wireless card (WLAN) location highlighted in blue.
Slide and install the wireless card into the slot on the system board.
Connect the white cable to the main (white triangle).
Connect the black cable to the auxiliary (black triangle).
Slide the wireless card bracket onto the wireless card.
Install the screw that secures the wireless card to the system board.
Coin Cell Battery
Identify the coin cell battery location highlighted in blue.
Insert the coin cell battery into the socket with the positive side (+) label facing up.
Snap the coin cell battery into the socket.
Align the coin cell battery cover with the battery socket and press it into place.
Left Side Cover
Identify the side cover location highlighted in blue.
Align and slide the left side cover onto the chassis.
Tighten the screws that secure the side cover to the chassis.
