How to replace the SSD (Solid State Drive) 2280 on a AlienwareX17 R2

This 3D experience gives you the step by step process of replacing the SSD (Solid State Drive) 2280 and a AlienwareX17 R2. The procedure will also include removing the Base Cover, SSD 2280 and reinstalling them.
Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest.
Gently pry the base cover from the gap around the screw holes on the bottom and sides to release.
Slide the base cover off the palm rest assembly.
SSD 2280
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the SSD and thermal shield.
Lift and remove the thermal shield off the solid state drive. Shield may be adhered to SSD.
Slide and remove the solid state drive from the slot on the system board.
Install
SSD 2280
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) location highlighted in blue
Align the notch with the tab and slide the SSD into the slot on the system board.
Install the thermal shield on the solid state drive.
Install the screw that secures the SSD to the system.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Slide the top of the base cover into place, aligning the tabs and screw holes.
