Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest.
Gently pry the base cover from the gap around the screw holes on the bottom and sides to release.
Slide the base cover off the palm rest assembly.
Battery Cable (Disconnect)
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Turn over the computer and press the power button for 15 seconds to drain the flea power.
Battery
Identify the battery highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the battery to the palm rest.
Lift the battery off the palm rest.
Keyboard controller board
Identify the keyboard controller board highlighted in blue.
Lift the latch and disconnect the keyboard controller board cable from the keyboard controller board.
Lift the latch and disconnect the keyboard backlight cable from the keyboard controller board.
Lift the latch and disconnect the touchpad cable from the keyboard controller board.
Lift the latch and disconnect the keyboard cable from the keyboard controller board.
Remove the screws that secures the keyboard controller board to the palm rest.
Lift the keyboard controller board off the palm rest.
Install
Keyboard controller board
Identify the keyboard controller board location highlighted in blue.
Install the keyboard controller board and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the keyboard controller board to the palm rest.
Connect the keyboard cable to the keyboard controller board and close the latch to secure.
Connect the touchpad cable to the keyboard controller board and close the latch to secure.
Connect the keyboard backlight cable to the keyboard controller board and close the latch secure.
Connect the keyboard controller board cable to the keyboard controller board. Close the latch to secure.
Battery
Identify the battery location highlighted in blue.
Install the battery into the slot and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the battery.
Battery Cable (Disconnect)
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue
Connect the battery cable to the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Slide the top of the base cover into place, aligning the tabs and screw holes.
Tighten the captive screws on the base cover.
Install the screws that secure the base cover.
Install the screws that secure the base cover.
