Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws on the base cover.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the system.
Using a plastic scribe, pry to release the cover, starting at the top left corner.
Lift and slide the base cover off the palm rest assembly.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Battery
Identify the battery highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the battery to the system.
Unroute the battery cable from the routing guide on the system.
Lift the battery from the system.
SSD
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Identify the wireless module (WLAN) highlighted in blue
Remove the screw that secures the bracket to the wireless module (WLAN).
Lift the bracket off the wireless module.
Disconnect the antenna cables from the wireless module (WLAN).
Slide and remove the wireless module out of the slot on the system board.
Fan
Identify the fan highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the fan to the system.
Lift to remove the fan from the system.
Heat sink
Power adapter port
Identify the power adpater port highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the right display hinge to the system board.
Lift to open the display hinge.
Peel the tape that secure the power adapter port cable to the system board.
Disconnect the power adapter port cable from the system board.
Lift the power adapter port and its cable off the palm rest assembly.
System board
Identify the system board highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the USB-C port bracket to the system board.
Lift the USB-C port bracket off the system board.
Peel the tape that secures the display cable connector latch to the system board.
Lift the latch and disconnect the display cable from the system board.
Unroute the display cable from the routing guides on the system.
Peel the tape that secures the I/O board cable to the system board
Lift the latch and disconnect the I/O board cable from the system board
Disconnect the speaker cable from the system board.
Remove the screws that secures the system board.
Lift to remove the system board at an angle.
Install
System board
Identify the system board location highlighted in blue.
Install the system board into the slot on the system, aligning the ports.
Install the screws that secures the system board.
Connect the speaker cable to the system board.
Route the display cable through the routing guides on the system.
Connect the display cable to the system board and close the latch to secure.
Adhere the tape to secure the display cable connector latch to the system board.
Connect the I/O board cable to the system board and close the latch.
Adhere the tape to secure the I/O board cable connector latch to the system board.
Install the USB-C port bracket on the system board.
Install the screws that secure the USB-C port bracket to the system board.
Power adapter port
Identify the power adpater port location highlighted in blue.
Place the power adapter port into the slot on the palm rest assembly.
Connect the power adapter port cable to the system board.
Adhere the tape to secure the power adapter port cable to the system board.
Close the right display hinge and align the screw holes.
Install the screws to secure the right display hinge.
Heat sink
Fan
Identify the fan location highlighted in blue.
Install the fan in the slot on the system and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the fan to the system.
Connect the fan cable to the system board.
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Identify the wireless module location (WLAN) highlighted in blue
Align the notch on the wireless module with the tab on the slot and insert into the slot.
Connect the black cable to the auxiliary (black triangle).
Connect the cable with white sticker to the main (white triangle).
Align the screw hole on the bracket with the screw hole on the wireless module
Install the screw that secures the bracket and wireless module to the system.
SSD
Battery
Identify the battery location highlighted in blue.
Install the battery into the slot on the system.
Route the battery cable through the guide on the system.
Install the screws to secure the battery to the system.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Place the base cover on the system and snap into place.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the base cover.
Install the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
