Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover.
Using a plastic scribe, pry the base cover from the bottom left and around the sides to release.
Lift and slide the base cover off the system.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Carefully pull the tape to disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Battery
Identify the battery highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the battery to the system.
Remove the screws that secure the battery to the system.
Remove the battery from the system.
Keyboard controller board
Identify the keyboard controller board highlighted in blue.
Open the latch and disconnect the keyboard-backlight cable from the keyboard-controller board.
Open the latch and disconnect the keyboard-controller board cable from the keyboard-controller board.
Open the latch and disconnect the keyboard cable from the keyboard-controller board.
Remove the screws that secure the keyboard controller board to the system.
Lift the keyboard controller board from the system.
Install
Keyboard controller board
Identify the keyboard controller board location highlighted in blue.
Using the alignment pins, install the keyboard controller board into the slot on the system.
Install the screws that secure the keyboard controller board to the system.
Connect the keyboard cable to the keyboard-controller board and close the latch.
Connect the keyboard-controller board cable and close the latch to secure.
Connect the keyboard-backlight cable and close the latch to secure.
Battery
Identify the battery location highlighted in blue.
Install the battery into the slot on the system.
Install the screws that secure the battery to the system.
Install the screws that secure the battery to the system.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue
Connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Slide the notches under the rear I/O-cover and snap the base cover into place.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the base cover.
Install the screws that secure the base cover to the system.
