Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest.
Pry the base cover from the front left or front right corner of the base cover and continue to pry the front side of the base cover.
Lift the front side of the base cover, slide and pull the base cover off the palm rest assembly.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Battery
Identify the battery highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the battery to the system.
Remove the battery from the system.
Keyboard controller board
Identify the keyboard controller board highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the keyboard controller board bracket to the palm rest assembly.
Lift the keyboard controller board bracket off the keyboard controller board.
Peel the tape that secures the keyboard controller board cable to the cable port.
Lift the latch and disconnect the keyboard controller board cable from the keyboard controller board.
Remove the screws that secure the keyboard controller board to the system.
Lift the keyboard controller board from the system.
Install
Keyboard controller board
Identify the keyboard controller board location highlighted in blue.
Using the alignment posts, install the keyboard controller board into the slot on the system.
Install the screws that secure the keyboard controller board to the system.
Connect the keyboard controller board cable to the keyboard controller board and close the latch to secure.
Adhere the tape to secure the keyboard controller board cable to the cable port.
Align the screw holes on the keyboard controller board bracket with the screw holes on the keyboard controller board.
Install the screws that secure the keyboard controller board bracket to the palm rest assembly.
Battery
Identify the battery location highlighted in blue.
Install the battery into the slot on the system.
Install the screws that secure the battery to the system.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue
Connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Slide the notches under the rear I/O cover and snap the base cover into place.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the base cover to the system.
Install the screws that secure the base cover to the system.
