Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the system.
Using a plastic scribe, pry the basecover from the left corner to loosen.
Lift the base cover off the system.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Peel the tape that secure the battery cable to the battery.
Using the pull tab, disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Battery
Identify the battery highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the battery to the system.
Lift the battery to remove from the system.
Rear Cover
Identify the rear cover highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws on the back of the system that secure the rear cover.
Remove the screws that secure the rear cover to the system board.
Push the rear cover away from the system and lift it off the system
SSD
Wireless module (WLAN)
Identify the wireless module (WLAN) highlighted in blue
Remove the screw that secures the WLAN bracket.
Slide and remove the bracket to access the WLAN cables.
Disconnect the antenna cables (black and white cables) from the WLAN.
Slide and remove the wireless module out of the slot on the system board.
Memory Modules
Display Cable
Identify the display cable highlighted in blue.
Peel the tapes on the display cable - there is tape on top and the back side.
Open the latch and disconnect the display cable. Disconnect the DDS (Dynamic Display Switch) cable.
Power adapter port
Identify the power adapter port highlighted in blue
Remove the screws that secure the power adapter port bracket.
Remove the power adapter port bracket from the power adapter port
Disconnect the power adapter port cable from the system board.
Lift the power adapter port and peel the cable from the system board.
System Board Assembly
Identify the system board assembly highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the fan cables from the system board
Disconnect the speaker cable from the ethernet & audio board.
Lift the latch and disconnect the touchpad cable.
Lift the latch and disconnect the power button cable from the USB board.
Lift the latch and disconnect the keyboard controller board cable from the system board.
Peel the tape that secures the WLAN cable to the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the type-C bracket to the system board
Remove the type-C bracket from the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the left fan and system board
Remove the screws that secure the right fan and ethernet & audio board.
Lift up the system board assembly away from the palmrest.
Power button
Identify the power button highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the power button board assembly to the palm rest assembly.
Peel the power button cable from the palm rest assembly.
Lift the power button board assembly off the palm rest assembly.
Lift the power button to remove from the system.
Install
Power button
Identify the power button location highlighted in blue.
Place the power button into the slot on the palmrest..
Align the screw holes on the power button board assembly with the screw holes on the palm rest assembly.
Adhere the power button cable to the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secure the power button board assembly to the palm rest assembly.
System Board Assembly
Identify the system board assembly location highlighted in blue.
Install the system board assembly on the palm rest, using the alignment posts.
Install the screws that secure the right fan and ethernet & audio board.
Install the screws that secure the left fan and system board.
Install the type-C bracket and align the screw holes on the system board.
Install the screws that secure the type-C bracket to the system board.
Adhere the tape to secure the WLAN cable to the system board.
Connect the power button cable to the USB board. Close the latch to secure.
Connect the touchpad cable. Close the latch to secure.
Connect the keyboard controller board cable to the system board board and close the latch to secure.
Connect the speaker cable to the ethernet & audio board.
Connect the fan cables to the system board.
Power adapter port
Identify the power adapter port location highlighted in blue.
Install the power adapter port into the slot and adhere the cable to the system board.
Connect the power adapter port cable to the system board.
Install the bracket over the power adapter port.
Install the screws to secure the power adapter port bracket.
Display Cable
Identify the display cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the display cable, close the latch and adhere the tapes. Connect the DDS (Dynamic Display Switch) cable.
Memory Modules
Wireless module (WLAN)
Identify the wireless module location (WLAN) highlighted in blue
Insert the WLAN into the connector on the system board.
Connect the black cable to the auxiliary (black triangle).
Connect the cable with white sticker to the main (white triangle).
Install the bracket to secure the antenna cables.
Install the screw to secure the WLAN.
SSD
Rear Cover
Identify the rear cover location highlighted in blue.
Slide the rear cover towards the system till it snaps into place.
Install the screws that secure the rear cover to the system board.
Install the screws that secure the rear cover on the back of the system.
Battery
Identify the battery location highlighted in blue.
At an angle, slide the battery into the slot.
Install the screws to secure the battery.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board.
Adhere the tape securing the battery cable to the battery.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue
Align the base cover and press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the base cover to the system.
Install the screws that secure the base cover.
