Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the system.
Using a plastic scribe, pry the basecover from the left corner to loosen.
Lift the base cover off the system.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Peel the tape that secure the battery cable to the battery.
Using the pull tab, disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Battery
Identify the battery highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the battery to the system.
Lift the battery to remove from the system.
Touchpad
Identify the touchpad highlighted in blue.
Unroute and remove the speaker and antenna cables from the routing guides on the system.
Remove the screws that secure the routing guide brackets to the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
Lift the routing guide bracket off the touchpad bracket.
Remove the screws that secure the touchpad bracket to the system.
Lift the metal bracket from the system.
Lift the latch and disconnect the touchpad cable from the touchpad
Remove the screws that secure the touchpad to the system.
Slide and lift the touchpad from the system.
Install
Touchpad
Identify the touchpad panel location highlighted in blue.
Place the touchpad into the slot on the system.
Install the screws to secure the touchpad to the system.
Install the touchpad bracket into the slot on the system.
Install the screws to secure the touchpad bracket.
Connect the touchpad cable and close the latch to secure. Adhere the cable if needed.
Align and place the routing guide bracket over the touchpad bracket
Install screws that secure the routing guide to the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
Route the speaker and antenna cables through the routing guides on the palm rest.
Battery
Identify the battery location highlighted in blue.
At an angle, slide the battery into the slot.
Install the screws to secure the battery.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board.
Adhere the tape securing the battery cable to the battery.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue
Align the base cover and press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the base cover to the system.
Install the screws that secure the base cover.
