Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the system base.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the system.
Using a plastic scribe or a flat head screwdriver, pry the base cover from the edges.
Lift the base cover off the system base.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board. Peel back the tape if needed.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
I/O Board
Identify the I/O board highlighted in blue.
Open the latch, disconnect the I/O board power cable and I/O board cable from I/O board.
Remove the screws that secure the I/O board to the system.
Lift the I/O board off the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
Coin cell battery
Turn the I/O board over and position to enable the AR lock.
Identify the coin cell highlighted in blue.
Using a plastic scribe, gently pry the coin cell battery out of the slot on the I/O board.
Install
Coin cell battery
Turn the I/O board over and position to enable the AR lock.
Identify the coin cell location highlighted in blue.
Insert the coin cell battery into the slot on the I/O board - press until it clicks.
I/O Board
Identify the I/O board location highlighted in blue.
Using the alignment posts, install the I/O board on the system.
Install the screws that secure the I/O board to the system.
Connect the I/O board power and I/O board cables. Close the latch to secure.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board. Adhere the tape.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the base cover tabs to the slots on the edges, press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
Tighten the captive screws that secures the base cover to the system base.
Install the screws that secure the base cover to the system.
