Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws on the base cover.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the system.
Using a plastic scribe, pry to release the cover, starting at the top left corner.
Lift and slide the base cover off the palm rest assembly.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Power Button (FPR)
Identify the power button with optional fingerprint reader highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the left display hinge.
Lift to open the display hinge.
Lift the latch and disconnect the power button board cable.
Remove the screws that secures the power button board to the system.
Lift the power button board off the palm rest assembly.
Lift the power button off the palm rest assembly.
Install
Power Button (FPR)
Identify the power button with optional fingerprint location highlighted in blue.
Place the power button on the palm rest assembly.
Align with screw hole and place the power button board on the power button.
Install the screws that secures the power button board to the system.
Connect the power button board cable and close the latch to secure.
Close the left display hinge and align the screw holes.
Install the screws to secure the left display hinge.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Place the base cover on the system and snap into place.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the base cover.
Install the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
