This 3D experience gives you the step by step process of replacing the Solid State Drive (SSD) and a Precision 5480. The procedure will also include removing the Base Cover, Battery Cable and reinstalling them.
Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Using a Torx #5, remove the screws that secure the base cover.
Starting at the bottom left corner, carefully pry the base cover along the bottom and sides.
Grasp the bottom and rotate it upwards to release the base cover from the system.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue
Use the tab to assist in disconnecting the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.

Install

Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue
Align the base cover and press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
Install the screws that secure the base cover. (requires Torx #5)
