Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Using a Torx #5, remove the screws that secure the base cover.
Starting at the bottom left corner, carefully pry the base cover along the bottom and sides.
Grasp the bottom and rotate it upwards to release the base cover from the system.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue
Use the tab to assist in disconnecting the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Battery
Identify the battery highlighted in blue
Remove the screws that secure the battery.
Remove the screws that secure the battery.
Peel the tapes that secure the speaker cable to the battery.
Lift the battery off the palm rest assembly
Speaker
SSD (Solid State Drive)
Left Fan
Identify the left fan highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the left fan to the palm rest assembly.
Holding by the edges, slide the fan out and lift to remove.
Right Fan
Identify the right fan highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the I/O board shield.
Lift to remove the I/O board shield off the system board.
Remove the screw that secures the fan to the system board.
Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
Holding by the edges, slide the fan out and lift to remove.
I/O Board
Identify the I/O board highlighted in blue
Disconnect and remove the I/O board cable from the system board and I/O board.
Remove the screw that secure the IO board and USB Type-C port bracket.
Remove the USB Type-C port bracket.
Remove the screw that secure the IO board to the system.
Lift to remove the I/O board.
Display Cable
Identify the display cable highlighted in blue
Loosen the captive screws that secure the display cable bracket.
Lift the display cable bracket off the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the display cable holder.
Disconnect the touchscreen cable and camera cable.
Display Assembly
Identify the display assembly highlighted in blue
Remove the screws that secure the display hinges to the system.
Lift the palmrest up to open the hinges and slide the palmrest away to remove.
System Board Assembly
Position the palm rest assembly on a flat table.
Identify the system board assembly highlighted in blue.
Loosen the screw that secures the wireless module (WLAN) bracket.
Remove the bracket to access the WLAN cables.
Using a plastic scribe, disconnect the antenna cables and unthread them from the clips.
Lift the latch, and disconnect the fingerprint reader board cable from the system board.
Lift the latch, and disconnect the keyboard control board cable from the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the left USB Type-C bracket to the system board.
Lift to remove the left USB Type-C bracket from the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the system board.
Remove the screw that secure the system board.
Lift the system board off the palm rest assembly. Do not lift from the left/right edges.

System Board Assembly
Identify the system board assembly location highlighted in blue
Install the system board assembly into the slot and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the system board.
Install the screw that secures the system board.
Install the left Type-C bracket and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the left Type-C bracket.
Connect the fingerprint reader board cable and close the latch to secure.
Connect the keyboard control board cable and close the latch to secure.
Connect the short cable to the "MAIN" (empty triangle). May have silver tape.
Connect the long cable to the "AUX" (filled triangle).
Install the bracket to secure the antenna cables.
Tighten the captive screw to secure the WLAN bracket.
Display Assembly
Position the display assembly on a flat table
Identify the display assembly location highlighted in blue
Slide and install the palmrest assembly under the display hinges.
Push the hinges downward to close them and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the hinges to the palmrest.
Display Cable
Identify the display cable highlighted in blue
Connect the touchscreen cable and camera cable to the display-assembly cable.
Install the screws that secure the display cable holder.
Install the display cable bracket, using the alignment posts to position.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the display cable bracket.
I/O Board
Identify the I/O board location highlighted in blue
Install the I/O board into the slot on the system.
Install the screw that secure the IO board to the system.
Install the USB Type-C port bracket on the system board.
Install the screw that secure the IO board and USB Type-C port bracket.
Connect the I/O board cable to the connectors, ensuring the cable is oriented correctly ("IO" & "MB")
Right Fan
Identify the right fan location highlighted in blue
Slide fan into the slot on the system and align the screw holes.
Install the screw that secures the fan.
Connect the fan cable to the system board.
Install the I/O board shield, aligning the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the I/O board shield.
Left Fan
Identify the left fan location highlighted in blue.
Slide fan into the slot on the system and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the left fan to the palm rest assembly
Connect the fan cable to the system board.

Identify the battery location highlighted in blue
Install the battery and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the battery.
Install the screws that secure the battery.
Adhere the tapes that secure the speaker cable to the battery
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue
Align and install hinge first (careful of the cable inside the cover). Press until it clicks into place.
Install the screws that secure the base cover. (requires Torx #5)
