Inspiron 7620: Bluescreen
Hello all,
I keep getting bluescreens on my Inspiron 7620 (Inspiron 16 Plus, i7-12700H, RTX 3060). This happens completely randomly, sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes after an hour, no matter if/what I am working on. I've had the machine for 2 weeks and the problem has been recurring since I got the computer. I assume I'm not the only one affected, does anyone else have the problem (and a solution)? Thanks!
Many greetings,
Mo

Hi guys,
I found the solution after I saw that numerous Dell customers have the problem, for example here, here and here and in multiple other threads. Dell Support Assist is still causing the bluescreens. After uninstalling it, I haven't had a single one.
It is a bad habit for Dell (or all manufacturers) to fill the computers with software that the customer does not want. But that this is even responsible for crashing the factory-new computer premanently, is outrageos.
I'm well aware though that this is not your decision, so thank you for the advices

Use the event viewer or a crash dump analyzer to find out the cause.
Event viewer: run eventvwr.msc
Crash dump analyzer: Who Crashed (resplendence software); the free version is fine.

Same here on my Inspiron 7610, I fixed it by installing a CLEAN INSTALL of windows. I don't know what Dell did to their factory install of Windows. MacAfee just wreaks havoc on the whole system, and the CPU performance was all over the place. Any time I'd push the CPU or the GPU, I'd get a BSOD. If you get a chance, try installing a clean, pure installation of Windows 10 or 11 (not tampered with by Dell). Go to microsoft's Installation Media Creation Tool, and install a proper copy of it. The only Dell Apps you really need are Dell Power Manager and maybe Dell Update if you don't feel like manual driver installation, but you're better off manually installing driver updates. Don't install any of their other bloatware, and stay away from MacAfee, even if you have the 1-year subscription!

Perform a hard reset
Turn off the computer. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds. Disconnect the AC adapter or power cable from the computer, and remove the battery (for Dell laptops with removable battery).

Thank you for this post. I am also getting multiple BSODs a day with my Inspiron 7620. I'm going to try removing SupportAssist to see if that helps. Thanks!

I had the same problem with my dell vostro 7620 intel i7 12gen and rtx 3050. Clean instalation of nvidia drivers didn't help. I have removed Dell Support Assist and now everything is working properly.

I am having problems when i close the laptop "lid" (should put it to sleep)...it doesn't go to sleep, fan starts going crazy, and eventually crashes.
Then upon start, i ususally get a screen offering me to reinstall Windows etc, saying it didn't shut down properly.
Will try removing SupportAssist & see if it helps.
